New Super 5’s Team Sponsor

8th January 2019 By Paul Lynch

We are delighted to announce another new sponsor who will be sponsoring one of our Super 5’s teams for the next 3 years, Hair 2 Go.

Hair 2 Go was established in 2011 when Christine Allan (owner) decided to branch out on her own. Christine has been hairdressing now for over 40 years and has the Forres community to thank for that with their continued support.

When asked why she decided to sponsor a team in Forres Area Soccer 7’s she replied ‘I wanted to put something back into the community, also my boys both played in Soccer 7’s when they were younger. It taught them great skills, friendships and being part of a team.’

New Club Main Sponsor

4th January 2019 By Paul Lynch

With the new season fast approaching, we are delighted to announce that club has a new main sponsor; Aarons’s Groundworx of Forres.

When asked why he wanted to sponsor Forres Area Soccer 7’s, Aaron said ‘I wanted the chance to help out if I could as I believe all the volunteers do such a good job and this was my way of contributing to this great club. What the club offers for all our local kids is fantastic and I think that shows with the amount of children and volunteers at the club.’

He also added ‘I don’t have the time to commit to helping out, because I am so busy at work, but I hope to be able to one day. This is one way I can get involved straight away.’

The club board worked hard to get all of the new sponsors, including the main sponsor, secured before the end of last season. Paul Lynch the club Chairman said ‘It is fantastic that we could get a new main club sponsor who is local and knows what the club is all about.’

He also added ‘With the new season just around the corner it will be a fresh start with new kit for the coaches and teams. We have very exciting times ahead.’

Aaron’s Groundworx undertake a wide range of work, including ground clearance, drainage, concreting, house foundations, driveways, and gardens. Contact details can be found in our sponsors tab.

Club statement

27th July 2018 By Paul Lynch

Following on from tonight’s resignation announcement, the remaining board members of Forres Area Soccer 7s would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing board members Graeme Ferguson, Kev Skivington and Claire Rhind for the commitment shown to FASS over recent years.

Unfortunately, the recent statement made on behalf of Graeme and Kev didn’t quite tell the complete story and the board, being extremely disappointed with the tone and content of the statement, feel compelled to reply.

A change in the club’s management was necessary as the board was in danger of losing 5 board members due to a widely felt dissatisfaction about how the club is being run.

The club struggles to run effectively with our current low number of volunteers let alone losing 5 board members who pitch up week in and week out, help out at events and lots of other tasks that keep the club running.

A club the size of FASS requires strong day to day management and unfortunately this wasn’t happening. At no point were Graeme and Kev asked to leave, in fact the positions of Honorary President and Child Protection Officer were genuinely offered and the board wished for both Graeme and Kev to remain active board members with FASS.

The board have already carried out a reshuffle of roles at this evening’s board meeting and have appointed another Child Protection Officer to ensure the welfare of your children remains of paramount importance.

The board would also like to reassure parents that the footballing experience enjoyed by all our players will not suffer due to these changes. We are busy planning for the remainder of the season, our upcoming tournament and end of season get together.

We wish Graeme, Kev and Claire all the very best and wish them all good fortune in their future endeavours. If you have any questions regarding any of the above please don’t not hesitate to contact the board.

Kind regards

Paul Lynch, Chairman, Forres Area Soccer 7s
