Could you be our next club treasurer?

1st October 2015 By Forres Area Soccer 7s

Forres Soccer 7s TreasurerForres Area Soccer7s is looking for a new Treasurer, as the previous postholder has had to step down due to changing work commitments.

The role does not require a professional qualification, although of course that would be helpful, but requires merely someone who is capable and ideally has some experience of sound financial management in work or their private life.

The postholder will also be part of the 5 person management team for the club, along with the chairman, Vice-Chairman’s and Secretary. Attendance at periodic meetings is required also.

The event took place on Saturday (Sep 19) in Grant Park.

Over 40 youngsters took part in the event with a game starting every 15 minutes to ensure there was always a game of football on the go.

Shaun Moat, chairman of the club said: “It was a fantastic event and we were really lucky as the sun shone for us all day. We think we have raised almost £1000. We have so far counted around £700 but there is still money coming in Money raised will be used new equipment and the usual on-going cost involved in running such a large club.”

He added: “The kitchen was open all day to keep players and staff fuelled up with our famous bacon rolls, hotdogs, and the usual teas, coffees and snacks. During the day there was even the chance for the players to take on the coaches during a kick about with the players showing the adults how it’s done!”

Shaun added: “It’s great to see the kids taking part to raise money for the club. The weather was great and the kids played well and had a fun day. It was a hard challenge but everyone did extremely well and a big thank you for those who sponsored the players.”
