30th Year Anniversary Celebrations!!!

17th May 2023 By Paul Lynch

This year marks our 30th year anniversary and we are celebrating this the best way we can, by playing more football!!!

The celebrations all kick off on Sunday 25th June, which is the last session before we break up for the summer holidays, with an anniversary tournament. All age groups are involved throughout the morning starting with the Super 5s, who will start at 09:00 and finish around lunchtime where they will compete for the trophy or the plate.

Starting at the same time as the 5s will be the Senior 7s section, where they will play a 5-a-side tournament, 09:00-11:00.

We then move on to the Junior 7s, kicking off at 10:00 and finishing around 13:00. They will also compete for a trophy and plate.

The Developmental 4s will have their timed ‘Skills Trial’, one for each age group (4, 5 & 6 year olds), kicking off at 11:00 and finishing around 12/12:30.

We then invite everybody to stay after the tournament to enjoy our Family Fun Day, where there will be bouncy castles, face painting, food, sweet stall, slides and much more.

Remember to save the date of Sunday 25th June to help us celebrate 30 years of Forres Area Soccer 7s.

Here’s to the next 30 years!!!

We have ‘scooped’ another team sponsor in Stew n Drew’s.

9th May 2023 By Paul Lynch

We are delighted to announce another local company that has agreed to sponsor one of our Super 5s teams for the next 3 years, Stew n Drew’s Ice Cream.

When we spoke with Stewart (the owner) he had this to say ‘We have always supported clubs and events in and around our local area.  This year we decided to support Forres Soccer 7’s.  My eldest son Louis has been attending these sessions for the past couple years, so I have witnessed the hard work and dedication that goes into running the club.  My youngest son will be attending this year too, so I personally will look forward to attending the Sunday morning training and games to watch.’

He also added, ‘Forres Soccer 7’s is such a great offering to the community and kids of all ages and skills, everyone is made to feel welcome; well done and let’s hope for another good season.  We are very proud to be a sponsor for the next 3 years.’

Stew n Drew’s manufacture dairy ice cream from their factory in Hopeman.  They have a small seasonal shop on the main street in Hopeman from which you can select from an array of 24 different flavours of ice cream, plus dairy free options.

Their main business is wholesaling ice cream.  They manufacture and distribute throughout Scotland, supplying everything from corner shops to hotels, restaurants, cafes, and other ice cream parlours. They have been producing ice cream for 9 years now and look forward to moving into their new purpose premises this time next year.

My own children, nieces and nephews have all participated in Soccer 7s. It all helped their development on and off the field. It’s a great community event every weekend.”

Lewis also went on to mention “I am always blown away by the enthusiasm of everyone involved from the Board Members down to the Volunteers and Coaches over the last 30 years. They are out in all sorts of weather preparing for the children to appear. Easily a case of going beyond the call of duty.”

Forres Area Soccer 7s Chairman, Paul Lynch commented “To still have Maclean’s Highland Bakery as one of the original sponsors from 30 years ago really means a lot. A landmark company within the Forres, it goes a long way to have the support and backing of local businesspeople like Lewis Maclean.”

New team sponsor – Stuart Allan Plumbing & Heating Engineer

2nd May 2023 By Paul Lynch

The club is delighted to announce a new team sponsor within the Super 5s section, Stuart Allan Plumbing & Heating Engineer.

When asked why he agreed to sponsoring a team Mr Stuart Allan said “Having played in Soccer 7s when I was younger and then been involved in coaching, I have a long-standing history with Soccer 7s. Now my own two boys are in Soccer 7s, it felt right to continue to be involved by sponsoring a team, and now the boys play in my team which is fantastic to see.”

Mr Allan also mentioned “Soccer 7s is a great organisation which has given so many kids enjoyment over the years. One of the great things about Soccer 7s is, it gives everyone a chance, regardless of their ability. There is a lot of work which goes on behind the scenes, and I’m sure all the parents and children are very grateful to all those which continue to make it a great success.”

Forres Area Soccer 7s Chairman, Paul Lynch added “I am overwhelmed with the response for team sponsors and to have another great local company offer to support us, is just incredible. Without the continued support from the community, the club would not be in the great position we are in today, being able to offer football to children aged 4 – 16 years old.”

Stuart Allan Plumbing & Heating Engineer is based in Forres and offer a wide range of services including emergency plumbing, bathroom installations, full central heating systems and water tank replacements to name a few. But you can find out more info by clicking the ‘Sponsors’ tab above.
