Summer 21 Dates

21st June 2021 By Paul Lynch

We are pleased to announce that we will be playing throughout the summer holidays. During a normal season we do not play during any of the school holidays, but due to Covid-19 and starting the 2021 season late we thought it was best to try and give as much football to the children as possible.

The dates are as follow:

Sunday 27th June

Sunday 11th July

Sunday 25th July

Sunday 8th August

Sunday 15th August

It will continue as normal from Sunday 15th August. The timings for the summer sessions will remain the same with the Developmental 4’s 10:00 kickoff and the Super 5’s, Junior & Senior 7’s 11:30 kickoff.

We understand that people may not be able to make all of these sessions but we just wanted to offer more football to make up for the past year.

Training sessions for the Super 5’s and the Junior/Senior 7’s will be down to the team coach who will arrange training as and when they are available.

If you have any questions please contact the club.

Kind regards

New Procedures For The 2021 Season.

21st May 2021 By Paul Lynch

With the new season starting this weekend there are a few new rules and procedures we would like everyone to follow when attending Forres Area Soccer 7s. If parents/guardians could pass on this information to the players it would be a great help.

Before play

We would prefer only one parent/guardian per child……normal social distancing/protocols should be adhered to at all times whilst on site

We wish to implement a one way system onto and off the pitch managed by our Covid officer. An attendance register will be taken to allow track and trace if necessary. Hand sanitiser available at entry and exit points.

Players are to arrive ready to play with boots on etc

Only the manager/coach will be allowed on the pitch with players

Distance of at least 2m from the playing area should be maintained

Please ensure no unnecessary congregation

Do not handle or touch any kit that does not belong to you

During play

Coaches to social distance at all times

Hand sanitiser available for use in between games and at end of play

Drinks bottles only on the pitch identified by child’s initials to be kept in the designated kit area

Players must demonstrate social distancing before and after play (coaches to monitor/enforce)

3 training balls supplied per team for warm up purpose please clean before beginning match and store in bag

Match ball to be used during games

Coaches’ will be responsible for own kit. (stray balls are to be  kicked back , do not handle if possible)

Do not touch any kit that you do not need to e.g. goals, poles, corner flags etc

Off pitch during and after play

One person into toilets/building at a time…pavilion only open for toilet use…no changing facilities

No unnecessary congregation

Remember social distancing use hand sanitiser

Please leave as soon as the football has finished and do not let your child wander

Have fun

Kind regards

We Are Back!!!

4th April 2021 By Paul Lynch

We are glad to announce that we will be back on Sunday 23rd May 21, you can now register through our website https://forres-soccer7s.co.uk/

There will be more information to follow regarding the Senior 7s section (13-16 year olds) so please keep an eye out. Although you can still register just now for the Seniors and there is no fee at the moment. This will just give us an indication of numbers.

Due to our charitable status, we are now in a position to be able to offer free places for children in receipt of Free School Meals. Please contact the club and we can arrange your child’s registration. All we need is proof of the award letter.

We don’t want any children missing out on being able to play football at our club.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Kind regards

Club Statement 26 Sept 2020

26th September 2020 By Tommy Smith

Dear parents/guardians

As you are aware, due to the recent increased risk in infection we have all had to accept new Covid-19 restrictions as laid out by the Scottish Government. It is therefore with a heavy heart that the board of Soccer7s have decided that it is appropriate at this point to cancel the remainder of the 2020 season.

We have also decided that a full refund is in order, this will be payable as soon as possible. Please contact the club at your earliest convenience to arrange this.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.

It goes without saying that Soccer7s will be back in early 2021.

Club Statement 23 Jul 20

23rd July 2020 By Paul Lynch

Dear Mums, Dads, Guardians and not least players,

As you may or may not be aware, grassroots football in Scotland (and the UK in general) is slowly beginning to start up again following the relaxation of certain Covid19 restrictions.

This is certainly very good news for the sport and Forres Soccer Sevens welcome this with open arms. However, based on the current guidance, the Board do not believe we can yet offer football in a safe manner especially as we cater for up to 200 players aged 4 years upwards. Ultimately, the safety and well being of our players, spectators and coaches is of paramount importance and until we can ensure everyone’s safety we will continue to remain closed.

In the meantime, we are proposing that we start to get our club ready for action again. We are in the process of organising the routine grass cutting and are considering actions that will be needed in the pavilion. Mandatory PPE, hand sanitiser and extra disinfectants etc are being ordered so that we have all we need when the time is right. We might not get a lot of notice and we want to be ready to go as soon as possible

We would like to thank you all for your patience and ongoing support for our club. Rest assured we will be open as soon as safely possible.

Watch this space.

Kind regards

Paul Lynch

Chairman

Club Statement – 20/3/20

20th March 2020 By Paul Lynch

It is with deep regret that Forres Area Soccer 7’s remain unable to offer football activities to the youngsters of Forres and surrounding areas. The health and well-being of our players, spectators and last but not least volunteers is of paramount importance and it is essential that we follow the guidance as laid down by the relevant authorities.

Further to the announcements previously made by the SYFA regarding matches/training and the announcement by the Scottish Government regarding school closures, Forres Area Soccer 7’s appear to be ‘out of action’ certainly for the foreseeable future. We will continue to monitor updates released by the authorities and we will endeavour to update you all on a regular basis and have our club up and running again as soon as possible, bigger and better than ever.

As you are probably aware, Forres Area Soccer 7’s is a registered charity in Scotland and as such operates entirely on annual player memberships, local sponsorship and local donations. With this is mind, the board at Forres Area Soccer 7’s always attempt to keep the club as community orientated as possible; the club would like to remind the community that we are still here and willing to help those in need if we can. If you do need assistance and you think we may be able to help please do not hesitate to contact us, we will help where we can.

I’m sure you all will agree that this is going to be a difficult period for us all for a variety of reasons including financial difficulty for some. Although this will also be an extremely financially testing time for Forres Area Soccer 7’s, the board have decided to offer full refunds to those of you that need or wish this. If you wish to request a refund, please do not hesitate in contacting the club to arrange this.

The board at Soccer 7’s wish to thank you all for your continued support, both financially and for helping us make Forres Area Soccer 7’s the fantastic club that it is.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Soccer 7s will be back

Paul Lynch

Chairman
