Selection Day Postponed

1st February 2019 By Paul Lynch

Unfortunately due to the weather the club has made the decision to postpone the Selection Day, which was suppose to happen this Sunday 3rd Feb.

Looking at the forecast and what we think is best for everyone involved is that we move the Selection Day and start of the season by two weeks. Therefore the new dates are as follows;

Selection Day on the 17th Feb 10:00-11:30. Remember this is only for the Super 5’s (7-9 year olds) and the Junior 7’s (10-12 year olds).

Start of the season will be on the 3rd March. Developmental 4’s 10:00-11:10, Super 5’s and Junior 7’s to be at Grant Park for 11:00 to kickoff at 11:30.

The reason for the two week break in between the Selection Day and the start of the season is to allow the club time to arrange players in teams. We then give the coaches their teams and they will be in contact with you to pass on more information regarding training etc.

In the mean time please get in touch with the club if you have any questions, through our Facebook page or at office@forres-soccer7s.co.uk

Kind regards

Paul Lynch, Chairman

Selection Day

26th January 2019 By Paul Lynch

With the start of the 2019 season just 3 weeks away, we are having our Selection Day for the Super 5’s and Junior 7’s age group (7-9 and 10-12 year olds). This will be held at Grant Park on Sunday 3rd Feb. Kick off will be 10:00 and hopefully be finished around 11:30. Please bring a full water bottle and appropriate kit including football boots and shin guards.

The Selection Day is only for the Super 5’s and Junior 7’s age groups as this will allow the club to sort children into fair and even teams for the season. So if you haven’t yet registered your child please can you do so before the 3rd Feb. If you register your child after the 3rd Feb please do not worry we never turn a child away, they will still be put into a team.

In previous years we have had to re-arrange the teams half way through the season to even them up a bit to ensure the teams are evenly matched. This still could happen half way through this season so I ask please be patient with us. We as a club have the child’s best interests at heart and we aim to give every child as much playing time as possible. That is why there may be changes.

After the Selection Day the club will arrange every child into their teams and will contact the team coaches. The coach of your child’s team will then be in contact with you to pass on the relevant information. We will then start the season on the 17th Feb, kicking off at 11:30 but we ask for everyone in the Super 5’s and Junior 7’s to be at Grant Park for 11:00. This will allow us the make sure everything is ready to go to kick off the season.

For the Developmental 4’s, you will not be playing on the 3rd Feb, will start on the 17th Feb 10:00-11:10.

Please keep an eye on the website and Facebook page for any updates throughout the season.
